We are excited to offer the Yale Mock Trial Association Intensive, our 3rd annual August virtual workshop series designed to give high school competitors the tools to succeed in the courtroom!

For individual competitors looking to elevate their courtroom performances to the next level, the YMTA Intensive is an opportunity to learn from some of the best collegiate mock trial competitors in the nation. Each interactive workshop will be taught by our most experienced attorneys and witnesses who will share the tools and techniques that have led us to our success. The Intensive will comprehensively delve into a wide breadth of topics, including:

  • Direct Examinations: Breaking down the components of persuasive storytelling with a focus on compelling witness delivery and strategic questioning techniques

  • Cross-Examinations: Learn how to dominate the courtroom by mastering witness control, staying composed under pressure, and skillfully conveying your arguments

  • Evidence: A comprehensive overview of the rules of evidence and a crash course in arguing and winning collegiate-level objections

  • Statements: How to craft winning narratives from captivating openings to memorable closings

  • The YMTA Approach: We reveal the practices and strategies that make our association a top program in the country

Our philosophy is that perfect scores are earned by combining bold, dynamic presentation with a clear, cohesive case theory. We won’t merely teach teams to script a direct or cross; we will share how our association crafts and delivers compelling cases.

The Intensive will take place via Zoom in August. Registration will be $65 per student. Students from all schools are welcome to participate and can register individually.
